Ist das zu fassen? Les Calcatoggios stehen seit 1998 für Berliner Ska mit Ecken, Kanten und ordentlich Bewegung. Gegründet bei einem gemeinsamen Urlaub im korsischen Calcatoggio, ist die achtköpfige Band längst eine feste Größe der Berliner Ska-Szene – und steuert mit großen Schritten auf ihr 30-jähriges Bandjubiläum 2028 zu. Seit fast drei Jahrzehnten stehen Les Calcatoggios auf Bühnen in Berlin, Deutschland und Europa. Doch sie machen nicht nur Musik: Sie gestalten die Ska-Szene aktiv mit, organisieren Festivals, schaffen Strukturen und leben DIY-Kultur. Fast 30 Jahre Ska heißt für sie nicht Stillstand, sondern weitermachen, einmischen und Haltung zeigen.

Und Les Calcatoggios stehen für Womenpower: Sandra am Gesang, Paula am Tenorsaxophon und Ela an den Drums sorgen gemeinsam mit Roland an der Gitarre, Hajo am Bass, Thomas an der Trompete, Benny an der Posaune und Tor an den Tasten für einen Sound, der so vielfältig ist wie die Band selbst.

Denn hier geht es um mehr als Offbeat und Tanzfläche. Ihre Songs greifen gesellschaftskritische Themen auf und stehen für Vielfalt, Toleranz und ein solidarisches Miteinander. Nicht als Marketingstrategie, sondern als Überzeugung. Keine Imagekampagne – gelebte Identität.

Can You Believe It? Since 1998, Les Calcatoggios have stood for Berlin ska with edges, attitude, and plenty of movement. Founded during a shared vacation in Calcatoggio, Corsica, the eight-piece band has long become a fixture of Berlin’s ska scene and is already heading full speed toward its 30th anniversary in 2028.

For nearly three decades, Les Calcatoggios have played stages across Berlin, Germany, and Europe. But they do more than make music. They actively help shape the ska scene by organizing festivals, building networks, creating structures, and embracing the DIY spirit. For them, almost 30 years of ska is not about standing still. It is about moving forward, getting involved, and taking a stand.

Les Calcatoggios also stand for women power: Sandra on vocals, Paula on tenor saxophone, and Ela on drums join Roland on guitar, Hajo on bass, Thomas on trumpet, Benny on trombone, and Tor on keyboards to create a sound as diverse as the band itself.

Because this is about more than offbeats and dancefloors. Their songs tackle social issues and champion diversity, tolerance, and solidarity. Not as a marketing strategy, but as a genuine conviction. Not an image campaign, but a lived identity.
